Author K. Danyel is relatively new to the publishing game, but she’s ready to make a big impact. I recently spoke to her about her release, All She Wanted Was Everything.
Tell me about your latest book.
Nedra Johnson is an up-and-coming real estate agent who’s tired of living the mediocre life with her husband. She meets a wealthy executive who shows her what having the finer things in life looks like. When he ends up dead, she’s the prime suspect in his murder. Now Nedra must fight for her innocence and figure out who in her circle has framed her for murder.
Why did you decide to write it?
I wanted to write a mystery/thriller based on the love of money and betrayal.
What do you want readers to learn from the story?
That sometimes wanting it all may cost you everything.
When did you fall in love with the written word?
I read the novel She Ain’t the One by Carl Weber and Mary B. Morrison. I knew then that I wanted to write.
If you could pick another profession, what would it be and why?
Event planner. I love planning parties and the logistics of it.
What’s the best part of being an author?
You get to tell the story how you want it told, from beginning to end.
What’s the worst part of being an author?
Not knowing if your story is going to resonate with the reader the way you want it to.
What books have you read lately and loved, and what books are you looking forward to reading?
Lately I’ve read and loved Moth to a Flame by Ashley Antionette and Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney. I’m looking forward to reading more books by L.G. Davis and Freida McFadden.
What’s next for you?
I’m working on a mystery/thriller collection based on the Ten Commandments.
