Chandra Sparks Splond Shares the Book that Changed Her Life

January 10, 2017 by Chandra Sparks Splond

It’s no secret that I love books, and what kind of friend would I be if I didn’t continue to share them with others?

I’m excited to start a new feature this year on my blog where I talk to people about the book(s) that have changed their lives. It’s only fair that I go first, and I’ll probably pop in on occasion with other life-changing books. Interested in being featured? Email me. The only requirement is that you share a book that has changed your life.

Name: Chandra Sparks Splond

Occupation: Author, Editor, Blogger and Speaker

The Book That Changed My Life: The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian

About the Book:
Today’s challenges can make a fulfilling marriage seem like an impossible dream. Yet God delights in doing the impossible if only we would ask! Stormie Omartian shares how God can strengthen your marriage as you pray for your husband concerning key areas in his life, including…

  • his spiritual walk
  • his emotions
  • his role as a leader
  • his security in work
  • his physical protection
  • his faith and his future

You will be encouraged by Omartian’s own experiences, along with the Bible verses and sample prayers included in each chapter. Join the millions of women who have been blessed by this life-changing look at the power of a wife’s prayers.

Why It Impacted Me:
I was in a really rough patch in my first marriage, and I believe someone recommended The Power of a Praying Wife to me—honestly, it’s been so long ago, I can’t recall how it came on my radar. I had never read a nonfiction book that seemed to speak directly to me and my situation. Nothing in me wanted to pray for my husband at the time, and the book actually said this, which immediately piqued my interest. Although ultimately my marriage ended, the book taught me the power of praying, not just for my mate but for myself and how I dealt with people.
