Christian Contemporary Romance Author Toni Shiloh Shares Her Dreams

August 19, 2020 by Chandra Sparks Splond

Christian contemporary romance author Toni Shiloh is back with the final book in her Faith & Fame series. I recently spoke with her about The Price of Dreams.

When did you fall in love with the written word?
Definitely when I was a kid! Around the age of 10, I became addicted to books and always having to have one in my hand. It wasn’t until I got older that I tried my hand at it.

Tell me about your latest book.
The Price of Dreams is the third and final book in the Faith & Fortune series. It details the healing Octavia has to go through—physically and spiritually. To her misfortune (in her mind), she starts to catch feelings for her physical therapist, who is white. As a biracial woman, she believes that interracial relationships bring nothing but heartache and doesn’t want to subject herself or future children to that kind of life.

Why did you decide to write it?
Octavia told me that was her greatest fear. Of course, when I came up with the story idea, it was before the country erupted in racial protests.

What do you want readers to learn from the story?
That love can truly conquer all.

If you could pick another profession, what would it be and why?
Oh, good question! Librarian maybe?

What’s the best part of being an author?
There are so many best parts in my opinion. One of the ones that gives me the greatest joys is having readers reach out and tell me how my books have helped them in an area in their life. In those moments, it feels like a pat on the back and a well done from the Lord.

What’s the worst part of being an author?
Edits!! Lol. I am not a fan of the revision or editing process. Not a fan at all.

What’s next for you?
I’ve been focusing on Christmas stories that will release this fall in two box sets I’ll be in.

Do you have anything you would like to add?
I can’t think of anything. I really appreciate you taking the time to talk to me and share about my books.
