Ladies and gentlemen, popular and prolific author Alexandria House is in the house to discuss her latest release, Personal.
Tell me about your latest book.
Personal is the third and final book in my St. Louis Cyclones trilogy. It is set to release on 4/2/22. Here’s the blub:
He’s handsome, talented, and troubled. Known as the bad boy of the NBA, Armand Daniels is both a liability and an asset to any team he’s a member of due to his hair-trigger temper. He’s no stranger to instability, but this latest trade may be what forces him onto the path of true change.
Ella McClain is her daddy’s princess, the daughter of a beauty icon, and a successful model in her own right. However, she’s tired of the spotlight and all that comes with it. Although cherished and protected by her family, she is overcoming deep issues when she crosses paths with Armand.
They are an unlikely pair who share a combustible chemistry and an inextinguishable passion, but do they have what it takes to build an enduring love?
Why did you decide to write it?
I knew when I wrote Let Me Hold You, where Armand Daniels was first introduced, that I would eventually write his story. Timing is everything, and this Cyclones series is the right time and the right fit for him.
What do you want readers to learn from the story?
As with most of my stories, I hope to convey that no one is inherently bad, but most are a product of genetics, their environment, their upbringing, and their desire or lack of desire to be their best self. Also, that love is deserved no matter one’s level of brokenness or depth of healing.
What do you want readers to learn from your life?
I’d love for them to learn that you don’t have to have a lot of money, connections, or even confidence to pursue your dreams. All you need is your gift and a willingness to try. Also, be okay with pivoting or changing direction to get to where you strive to be. Most importantly, it’s never too late to live your dream life and the journey to get there will likely look different than you imagined.
If you could pick another profession, what would it be and why?
An astronaut! I am obsessed with outer space and science and all that stuff.
When did you fall in love with the written word?
I fell in love with stories when I was a kid. I loved the feeling of letting myself be swept up in another world, another life, and endless possibilities. I still love it, but I love creating those worlds even more!
What’s something readers would be surprised to know about you?
I’m a pretty open book, and I share a lot with my readers. I can also be rather irreverent. I’m not sure anything about me would surprise them, lol.
What books have you read lately and loved?
I recently devoured Brandon Massey’s entire audiobook catalog and truly enjoyed every word!
What books are you excited to read?
I’m excited to read the book Joan Vassar is currently working on.
What’s next for you?
I have The Book of Nyles releasing on audiobook soon, as well as the audio version of Sanctuary. My latest Audible Original, Temper Me, will release in paperback and eBook in early April. I’m also planning to continue with my paranormal series.
Do you have anything you would like to add?
Thank you for interviewing me and for all your support!
