If you’re active on any book groups on social media, then you’ve probably heard about Natasha Bishop’s viral sensation, Only for the Week. Today, she’s stopping by to talk about the book, which has recently been rereleased.
Tell me about your latest book.
My latest book, Only for the Week, is messy, spicy, and sweet all wrapped in one. It’s the story of a woman finding her voice within her family dynamic and a man who wants nothing more than to help her find it.
Why did you decide to write it?
It was originally supposed to be much shorter as part of an anthology. After the anthology fell through, I wanted a break from my first series, and these characters were speaking to me, so I let them.
Who is your favorite character and why?
I would have to say Evie. She’s hysterical, unapologetically herself, and fiercely loyal. I think everybody needs an Evie in their lives.
When did you fall in love with the written word?
At a very young age. I’ve always written in some way, but having free time during the pandemic gave me the courage to share my words with others.
If you could pick another profession, what would it be and why?
I think I’d still do something with books, maybe a librarian or bookstore owner. If I had to do something completely different, I might be a private investigator because I’m nosey, and I like to figure things out.
What author would you fangirl over?
The first time I met Kennedy Ryan and Beverly Jenkins, I about passed out. I also still fangirl over my besties J.L. Seegars, A.E. Valdez, and Asia Monique when I’m in the room with them
What books have you read lately and loved?
Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma, Priest by Dandridge Monroe, And Then There Was Passion by Asia Monique, and Reclaim Me by J.L. Seegars
What books are you most excited to read next?
The next installment of Immortal Dark.
What’s next for you?
Next would be book 2 in the Forever Falling Series, and then the plan is to go back to the Lost & Found series.
Do you have anything you would like to add?
In the wake of this country’s current state, I’d just like to reiterate that books and reading, much like my existence, are very much political. Denying that or pretending otherwise is the kind of delusion that causes harm.
