Get ready to fall for New York Times bestselling author Shanora Williams’ latest release. I recently spoke with her about Beautiful Broken Love.
Tell me about your latest book.
Beautiful Broken Love is about a grieving widow who isn’t looking for love again but meets a charming NBA player who will do anything to have her.
How long did it take you to write it?
It took me about five months to write the first draft, but I spent about six or so months revising it to better the story.
Which character could you relate to the most and why?
The heroine Davina. She was a very strong character who reminded me a lot of myself. I loved that she was willing to proceed with life despite feeling so broken and hopeless.
How are you celebrating the book’s release?
My wedding anniversary is the week after the release, so we’ll be lumping the celebration into our weekend together.
What is the most valuable piece of writing advice you’ve received?
To simply keep writing. Want to get better? Keep writing. Want a stronger voice? Keep writing. Want to make a name for yourself? Keep writing.
What books have you read lately and loved?
I read Before I Let Go and This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan recently and loved them. I also read Curvy Girl Summer by Danielle Allen, and it was so good. Pestilence by Laura Thalassa wasn’t my usual go-to genre but it was a good read.
What books are you excited to read?
I’m excited to start Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert. I read the first two of the trilogy and adored them and can’t wait to dive into this one.
What’s next for you?
I have a thriller, a romantasy, and possibly another contemporary romance coming out in 2025. Super excited about all of them!
